ECA and AIR

This is the entrance to the office of Dansk Kunstnerrad - a Danish association of ‘18 professional arts organizations representing creative and working artists in the fields of visual arts, actors, architects, craftsmen, film workers, photographers, stage designers, etc’. Based in Copenhagen it also houses the office of the European Council of Artists. On my way back from Sweden last month I had a meeting here to discuss AIR membership of the ECA.
I’ve been involved with a-n The Artists Information Company since 1987 when I edited a ceramics supplement for the magazine, and since 1999 as a member of the board. AIR has evolved from a-n to be a representative body for visual artists, and has been in existence since 2007. a-n provides the secretariat for AIR and its Advisory Group of Artists. Membership automatically provides public liability insurance for visual artists professional practice, as well as full access to a-n’s digital information and a separate AIR web space. AIR now has in excess of 11,500 members. More details from here:

Anyway, to cut a long story short AIR was invited to become a member of the ECA at their April meeting and we are working to establish other international links with visual atists organizations....
I was able to make the visit to the ECA as I was in Copenhagen partly because of my work and friendship with Ann Linneman. I’m working with Ann on some collaborative pieces. The ECA office is just round the corner from her studio gallery, and not far from the Royal Park, with its flowers and pollarded trees....
... now back to thesis writing...
