Seems to be festival time in Vietnam. Bat Trang is the well known ceramic village about 12 km out of Hanoi and yesterday when we visited they were preparing for their Spring Festival. Visited the mural factory to collect fired printed tiles for the mosaic, and admire the huge scale relief tile work going on on the factory floor (literally - see below). Also visited a ceramic printer, and a number of shops/workshops selling/making ceramics...

Hanoi TV visited, filmed, interviewed and broadcast yesterday - today it was national TV. The first part of mural 1 is complete, and has now been covered in plastic film, it is then cut into numbered sections prior to installation. Images below - completed mural covered in plastic film, another section of mural has the plastic rolled out. Then sections of Peach/Prunus cut up ready to go out onto the Dike wall for installation. Doan works out details of wall size - one section requires some extra brick work
Today panel two - Clouds makes slow but good progress - its hard work making my mosaic designs because they involve a lot of cutting and tile nibbling - below clouds taking shape and printed birds inserted....
