The Art of Industrial Ceramics
16 September 2009
Marek Cecula’s The Art of Industrial Ceramics which began its life at the Gardiner Museum in Toronto has just finished showing at its second venue - The Museum of Art and Design in New York. It now moves to the Lodz Design Festival in Poland. I had four pieces in the show, but I’ve just sold two of them to the Museum of Art and Design, for their permanent collection. Top: Scott’s Cumbrian Blue(s), Foot and Mouth Series Spode’s Blue Room, Milk Maid 3. Below: Scott’s Cumbrian Blue(s), After the By-Pass.
The two artworks below will be shown in Lodz - Scott’s Cumbrian Blue(s), Barsbacke 2. In-glaze decal collage on Rörstrand porcelain platter (designed by Pia Törnell), and Scott’s Cumbrian Blue(s), Foot and Mouth No:5, in-glaze decal on Royal Worcester bone china
