A number of galleries/curators have requested loan of one of the <i>Three Gorges</i> platters I originally made in 2003, but they’re all sold. I decided to make a new version - The new pattern includes one of the tourist boats that now ply their trade on the dammed river. The project is immensely <a href="http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/article2537279.ece">controversial</a>... There’s a great documentary film by the Canadian Ed Burtynsky <i><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jv23xwe0BoU">Manufactured Landscapes</a></i> which is well worth a look if you can rent or buy the DVD. He has some images of the dam in construction...
